Amy has been with SUKHA since day 1!! Her soft, calming voice and her magical flow will leave you feeling energized and refreshed.
Here is a few things about Amy:
I am 40. I am a daughter Sister to two brothers Mother to two boys Aunt Friend. I am blessed by everyone who gave me these titles. I have been a dancer, soccer player, runner- all of which you can see in my yoga practice. I point my toes and turn out my hips. I have soft hands. I power through pain and keep playing the game. I breathe to last longer and pace myself. I am an artist and writer, though only a few have seen or read any of it. I am quiet and love silence- probably too much for my own good. I consider it a weakness. I live words and the way they make me feel and the magical power they hold over us. I have low self esteem, but am working on it. I have scars and tattoos and will keep getting more of both. They tell a story. Everyday I honestly try to find the light in every situation..even the ones that break my heart. I love getting up early and running to see the sunrise by myself- or dance on the rocks because no one else is there to see. I drink a lot of coffee and too little water. My boys are a reflection, a ripple of me and their dad. I love to see the ebb and flow of their personalities evolving daily. I was a Managing Editor for an art magazine for many years, then a stay at home mom for many, and now an employee at Barlows. I have loved every job I ever had. I love to cook for other people. I love to paddle board on quiet waters and always always think the ocean is too cold. I run best and breathe best in the woods. I am seriously attached to my playlist and can't run without it. I am stronger than I realize. There are parts of me I haven't found yet and others I couldn't bring myself to write down or share yet. I am thankful and grateful to be here and to Maribeth for this moment and so many others. As of today I am a yoga teacher to all of you. I am nervous. Here goes nothing..get ready to OMMM! P.S Have I ever mentioned how I "strongly dislike" country music??

I reluctantly tried yoga as a last-ditch effort to battle depression and anxiety, but was shocked to find it completely changed my being physically, mentally, and spiritually. After my first formal class I knew this was something I had to share with others; this practice isn't strictly for the flexible and strong, if anything it is for those who consider themselves the opposite. I received my 200 hour teacher training and cannot wait to move forward to continue to explore and learn more about this beautiful practice.
Class description: Brittany's class follows the vinyasa tradition of linking the breath with movement to help link the body and mind. This class will open with breath work (pranayama), followed by creative and explorative movements leading into a deep relaxation (savasana). Get ready to move and accomplish things you once thought impossible!
I took my first class when I was 8 years old, solely for the purpose of wanting to be just like my mom, and I can honestly say I fell in love with yoga. From then on, I practiced on and off until then developing a dedicated practice during college. I earned my 200hr Yoga Teacher Certification in December 2016.
Personally, I use yoga as a tool to help me be happy, on and off of my mat. To some, they may not understand how having a yoga practice can help you to deal with your day -to –day-life. Believe it or not, how you do anything is how you do everything. By simply showing up to your mat, with a will to put in effort, is a major step in the right direction, and will help you find the confidence to take that step in all other aspects of your life.
Join me for a physical and spiritual practice for all levels, where you will listen to great music, meet inspiring classmates, develop a relationship with breathe, learn to get comfortable with your limits, and then learn how to push them before you’re left melting in savasana.
Let’s do this!
Originally from Queens, NY, it was there in 2003 when Crystal first began practicing yoga. In 2016, while working as a mental health and addictions counselor in New Jersey, she decided to earn her 200hr CYT from Align and Flow as a way to further assist people to achieve positive physical, behavioral and emotional change. Crystal identifies herself as a lover of nature, student of life and a servant to all living beings, volunteering her time with animal rescue and care. She recognizes that both the physical and spiritual practice of yoga are vital to wellness and growth and offers a strengthening vinyasa flow with emphasis on breath and mindfulness that can be modified for all levels and comforts of practice.

Gypsy Souls Teacher Training with Maria Preuster
SUKHA is excited to announce Gypsy Souls 200-300 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Advanced Certified Jivamukti Teacher Maria Preuster.
Gypsy Souls 200 - 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course is designed to enhance the trainee’s existing Yoga practice, cultivate teaching skills, and most importantly increase spiritual awareness.
Divided into three modules, the first two are designed for first time TT’s and total 200 hours. The last module is optional and is an additional 100 hours. This last 100 hours is open to any 200 hour trained teacher. It is specifically designed to provide a foundation to teach from and build confidence to branch off from that foundation intelligently. This training is not for those who view Yoga merely as a form of exercise. It is recommended that you are genuinely interested in going deeper into the Yoga philosophy. The end goal should be to serve the students in a selfless manner.
Mandatory attendance is required for lectures and workshops on Saturday and Sunday and some Friday nights on Holiday weekends. Additional optional satsang hours on weeknights will be offered but limited and are not mandatory. Daily asana and meditation practice will be logged and reviewed weekly. You will be offered unlimited classes at host yoga centers Sukha and Sukha South.
In addition to completing modules, the trainee must successfully pass evaluation for FLOW, BASIC, and PRIVATE class.

Come join the Angels to embrace whatever life is throwing at you! Everything happens for us, not to us. What is it that your body is telling you? What has it manifested physically in order to bring to the surface something you need to look at and heal? What relationships issues are showing up to tell you something? Who are you? What did you come here to learn? What is your soul purpose? These are just some of the messages that you may receive!
This small group therapy is intended to guide, support and give you the tools necessary for your personal healing and growth. Each gathering begins with connecting to your Angels and your higher self. Everyone will receive an angelic message to help to set the intention for your meditation. Essential oils and energy therapy techniques may be used as guided. The beautiful tones produced by our crystal bowls are not just heard by the ear, you will feel them in your body. The tones will affect your energy centers (chakras) for healing, balancing, meditation and awakening of the soul. Sound vibration, which is the vibration of creation, can help us shift our vibration, reach deeper levels of meditation and ultimately reach new levels of healing and ascension.
Come relax, recharge, and rejuvenate! Because we limit the number of participants we ask that you pre-register online or in person to secure your spot.
Come ascend with us and the angels!

To Me, Love Me-Self Love Workshop with Maribeth Woodford
Join me for my first workshop on 3/31/18.
We hear it over and over again "You have to love yourself first". Why don't you love yourself" Self Love" etc.... We have been trying for years. Sometimes we think we reached that point when we have it all together and one day, and all of a sudden it happens again. That doubt. The criticism.
We do all of the work. Meditate, Cut Cords, Yoga. But then it happens:
Do you find yourself gravitating towards the same bad habits, romantic relationships, toxic people? It all comes back to self love.
We all know how important it is. Important to living well, who we pick as a partner, and how you cope with problems in your life. From family life to our professional life. Self love is a MUST but it’s not easy and it doesn’t happen overnight. It is choice you have to make every single day. It’s like Yoga. It’s something you have to work on every day. The more you practice and work in it the better you become.
We invest so much of our time and energy getting to know new friends and partners but are we truly putting the effort in for ourselves?
I hear it over and over again; “why do I attract assholes”, “why do my friends consistently walk all over me” , “my partner treats me like shit”?
These behaviors all come back to one thing; self acceptance and self love.
Some may say, “hold on, I love myself. I look fabulous for 45”, I am attractive, fun, smart, etc.... You may look great for whatever age but how’s that dating site treating you? Still attracting the same kind of people? How’s your relationship with your partner? Is he or she still not coming home at night? Coming my home half in the bag? Always hiding their phone? Catching them in lies but still sitting, waiting, wishing? You try to communicate and constantly doing the work but nothing is changing. Do you deserve this?
Or maybe you are in a better relationship than the last and still have trust issues from the past? Can’t let go? This hurt from the past leads to negative thinking and hurts your self esteem and can ruin a new, trustworthy relationship.
Join me for a very special, intense, discussion, journaling, meditation and short yoga sequences to face our inner critics, practical tips to practice self-love on a daily basis and work on becoming our own best friend and love ourselves unconditionally. Everyday.
"Self-Love is a way of living, rather than some elevated state of being"
Bring a blank journal. $25. Sign up in the SUKHA app and pay at the door. The invite list will be on private and so will this workshop. What is discussed at SUKHA, stays at SUKHA. Please sign up one week in advance so I know how many copies to make. Hosted and guided by Maribeth Woodford
Join Krista Eggering, Jewelry Designer April 20th at 7:00 pm(www.kristalynndesigns.com) and Spiritual Facilitator for this self discovery and informative workshop. The ancient science of Numerology is the study of how the numerical vibrations effect us, universally and personally. Through the birth date, we will explore how these numerical vibrations can reveal one's life path, personal year, inner strengths and future tendencies.
We will also work with your name and find the Soul Urge, The Secret Self and the Expression. Sound is the result of vibration – which is only another way of saying that every sound has a number behind it.
Based on your findings, each person will individually make their own mala bracelet made of wood and semi precious stones. Each number is represented by a semi precious stone to reflect the essence of its vibrations. A wonderful memory to remind you of the journey you explored at the workshop.
Please bring a pen and journal to take notes.
Cost: $40/pp - all supplies included. Pre-registration required.
Join us for an Earth day restorative yoga experience and give yourself the gift of restoration, rejuvenation, and going inward. April 22 at 10:15-11:45 am $40. This workshop will be capped. Please download the free SUKHA app, check in to the workshop and bring payment to SUKHA prior to reserve your spot.
Restorative yoga is a quieting, supportive practice using well-placed blankets, bolsters, yoga straps, eye pillows etc. to safely guide the body and breath into relaxation and ease. Restorative yoga peels away the layers of chronic stress, which many of us have and don't realize until we either burn out or worse, get sick/disease.
This practice turns on your rest and digest system (parasympathetic nervous system) and 90 minutes of the practice is equivalent to 3-4 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Rasa is a Sanskrit word that is defined as juice, flavor, or the essence of one's heart in its pure state. This practice awakens the deepest layer, which is the body of bliss!
Some of the MANY benefits:
-Assists in releasing stuck emotions -Heals the organs and digestive system -Facilitates the switch of the nervous system from sympathetic to parasympathetic, which allows the body to heal -Decreases inner and outer muscular tension -Strengthens the immune system -Increases creativity -Relieves physical pain -Reduces Insomnia and Fatigue -Increases concentration and the ability to make decisions -Allows adrenal glands to rest and heals adrenal burnout Restorative yoga is medicine for the mind and body.
